I am a Unitarian Universalist poet. I am a 7th generation Texan. My mother is an artist and my father is a physician; my stepfather was a well known oil painter. I have been writing poetry since I was 13 years old.

I am the mother of one son. I have a BA in History and Anthropology from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas University). I graduated in 1994. I am a knitter and potter as well. I attend Wildflower Unitarian Universalist Church, in Austin Texas. I am the author of The Family Gourmet, a cookbook.
